Who says couture is only reserved for Paris?
H&M did it again! And it’s getting all the more glamorous every time!
With more and more fashion design house and couture brands collaborating with various retailers like H&M and Target, people like us (basically university students living on a budget) are able to have a taste of the high-end fashion and even own a couple of pieces without breaking the wallet.
Take H&M for example, it collaborated with the amazing Karl Lagerfield in offering a collection in November 2004. Subsequently, Stella McCartney, Viktor & Rolf, Roberto Cavalli (still remember those leopard prints and his signature animalistic sex appeal?), and Sonia Rykiel have all jumped onto the designer collection bandwagon in hoping to deliver high quality couture/ runway fashion at the price of high street fashion. And so far, it’s been nothing but a tremendous success. You see people lining up and down the street just hoping to get their hands on some Jimmy Choo’s at H&M. But what’s the secret? What makes these collaborations so successful?
It is of course a combination of its marketing technique and cost control. H&M has established a standard for fast-fashion, because every time you visit the store, there is always something different. There are new prints, new styles, and new pieces every time. Although one may not agree with the quality, there is definitely a wide range of clothing for you to choose from. From lipsticks to head bands, from shoes to handbags, from accessories to jackets; you name it, they have it. The best thing is, it doesn’t cost you a fortune shopping there. It’s perfect for those who enjoy shopping but are constrained by a budget or for those who would like to change their style once in a while, which makes the inexpensive pieces from H&M their perfect choice.
Apart from that, H&M (like many other fashion brands) has offered an exclusive firsthand preview for some of the fashionistas online. Andy from stylescapbook.com was invited for the Lanvin for H&M fitting a couple days ago. Andy is not only a freelance stylist but is also the owner of one of the most visited fashion blogs. So, what’s better than to let bloggers advertise the newest collection to their die-hard followers? And judging by the photos on her blog, the Lanvin collection looks beyond magical.
I don’t know if you’ve noticed, Lanvin for H&M seems to have everything for everyone. Men, Women, Mature Women, Shoes, Lipsticks, Necklaces, Accessories, Coats, and the list goes on and on…
I am overwhelmed, beyond speechless and completely taken over by the amazing Alber Elbaz. He even made an appearance on the commercial! How cute. :)
But anyway, make sure to look out for the Lanvin collection coming out November 4 in over 200 stores worldwide.
